Booking Cares Fund Kick Off: 13 innovative project ideas arrive in Amsterdam!
Yesterday we kicked-off Round 2 of our Booking Cares Fund Programme - over the next 3 days, 13 project teams will work with Booking.com to finalise and present their innovative project plan for potential funding.
KICK OFF LUNCH AND INTRODUCTIONS!
We started it by sharing a lunch at the Conscious Hotel, with all 26 participants, their Booking.com mentors and our Booking Cares team having the chance to introduce themselves and their dreams for sustainable tourism. The participants join us from all around the world, each addressing sustainability in the travel industry through their own lens with their own unique solution.
GETTING TO WORK
The participants and their mentors wasted no time diving into their project plans and will have the next few days to deep dive into the best way to create positive impact and their plans to achieve that. Each project team and their dedicated Booking.com mentor, will work together, bounce ideas off each other and collaborate not just in these 4 days, but also over the coming year.
WHAT’S TO COME
This is just the beginning. Although participants and their mentors are already busy getting to work, tomorrow each team will sit down with more Booking.com topic experts in order to tackle specific project pain points and to discuss important parts of their idea.
In addition to this, we’ve lined up some great lighting talks and workshops to dive into sustainability in the tourism industry and how we can all work together to push innovation in this space.
At the end of the programme, all teams will sit down for a private interview with the judges to give them the chance to share their vision, explain their plans and have their projects evaluated for a share of the fund.
The Booking Cares Fund programme has been designed to provide ambitious non-profit ideas with support and expertise to turn visions into reality - we can’t wait to see what happens after these 4 days!
