This Cookie Notice applies to Booking.com B.V., Herengracht 597, 1017 CE Amsterdam, the Netherlands, (“Booking.com“) and describes how Booking.com uses personal data collected through cookies and other techniques including pixels (“Cookies”) on our websites www.bookingcares.com, booster.bookingcares.com, fund.bookingcares.com and volunteer.bookingcares.com and cares.booking.com (together “Sites”).

Data Collection

When entering the Sites, Booking.com automatically collects data using Cookies.

The types of information that we collect through Cookies include IP address; device ID; viewed pages; browsing information; browser type; operating system; internet service provider; timestamp; the referring URL; features used or activities engaged within our services and location data depending on the device you use.

More information on Application Software Development Kits (SDKs): an application SDK is a set of code that can be embedded directly within an application on a mobile phone, computer, or other device. We may collect information through an SDK that is embedded in our services. If it is not feasible or practical to integrate an SDK into an application, we may send and receive information using a third-party or our own first party Application Programming Interface "API".

Processing Purposes

We use your information, including personal data, collected through the Cookies for the following purposes:

  1. Provide our Sites: we use information that we collect through Cookies to allow you to use the Sites. It is our legitimate business interest to use Cookies for this purpose.

Sharing With Third-Parties: we share your personal data with third parties as permitted by law and as described below, such as service providers acting on our behalf. We do not sell or rent your personal data.

Sharing and Disclosure of Aggregate Data: we share data in aggregate form and/or in a form which does not enable the recipient of such data to identify you, with third parties, for example for industry analysis and demographic profiling.

Data Retention

There is a difference between session cookies and permanent cookies. Session cookies only exist until you close your browser. Permanent cookies have a longer lifespan and are not automatically deleted once you close your browser. We strive to serve Cookies or allow the serving of Cookies with a maximum lifespan of 5 years. Only in exceptional circumstances, such as for security purposes (such as fraud detection) and where absolutely necessary, will a Cookie have a longer lifespan.
